Spends is a personal finance tracker. This is a short, plain-language summary of what happens to your data.
What is stored
Your spends, income, savings transfers, categories, budgets, and profile details are stored in the app database. The browser never connects to the database directly; it only talks to this app server.
Signing in
Signing in with Google shares your name, email, and profile photo with the app so it can identify you and show them back to you. Access may be invite-only if the app owner configures an allowlist.
Google Sheet backup
If you click Google Sheet backup, Spends asks Google for permission to create and update a backup spreadsheet in your own Google Drive. The backup contains date, type, amount, category, note, and created timestamp. Spends does not read unrelated spreadsheets or Drive files.
The chat assistant
When you use the Ask AI / chat feature, your message and relevant spend data are sent to the configured AI provider to generate a reply. This only happens when you actively use chat.
What is not done
No ads, no analytics or tracking scripts, and your data is never sold.
Your control
You can edit or delete individual entries at any time, clear all data from Settings, disconnect Google access from your Google Account permissions, or sign out to remove the app session from your device.
